LYMA Was Created to Change Lives

LYMA is supporting The Prince’s Trust's #ChangeAGirlsLife campaign this International Women’s Day

LYMA was created to change lives. It has been our goal since day one to upgrade and improve every life touched, and we are delighted to support for the second year The Prince’s Trust to help women and girls reach their full potential through its #ChangeAGirlsLife campaign this International Women’s Day.

Being a female founder in a male-dominated industry is something I’m incredibly proud of, and it is my mission to uplift, inspire and empower other women to reach their goals and achieve their ambitions too. Growing up, I never for a moment envisaged that I’d create and build a business from the ground up. I simply wasn’t led to believe that it was a possibility for me as a woman. Now I know different, and it is my hope that by supporting The Prince’s Trust, other girls and women can begin to know different too.

In 2012 I spent six weeks in hospital battling septicaemia following the birth of my daughter. I was sicker than I’d ever been, riddled with toxins and told I may never make a full recovery.

Over the next few months, various doctors prescribed me a convoluted cocktail of prescription drugs, which actually caused my health to decline further. I was fast losing faith in the medical profession, and I knew there must be a better way. I had a husband at home, and a new-born baby to look after, and I wasn’t ready to give up hope just yet.

In 2013 I had a chance encounter with a world-leading authority on preventative disease and pharmaconutrition, Prof. Paul Clayton, who persuaded me that the supplements I was taking in fact had no discernible benefits, and that - as with the majority of all supplements on the market - claims made by the supplement companies were little more than a marketing ploy. As it turned out, most supplements that are for sale offer very little, if any, benefit to the person taking them.

Prof. Paul Clayton prescribed me a new protocol of peer-reviewed, patented ingredients, dosed at active levels, all backed by rigorous clinical evidence to confirm their safety and efficacy.

After just one month following Prof. Paul’s advice I felt like myself again. In fact, I felt better. Not only did I make a full recovery, but what started out as a life-threatening situation created the foundation of all that LYMA is and does today.

Paul and I set off on an adventure around the world, seeking out and connecting with the best scientists on the planet. We had one goal in mind, and one goal only. To create the ultimate supplement. I launched LYMA in 2018. The supplement industry was changed forever.

International Women’s Day is a cause close to LYMA’s heart. It’s a day to celebrate the women in our lives - mothers, grandmothers, sisters, friends, wives and daughters - and a day to come together to remind ourselves that being a woman is a superpower.

Collaborating with The Prince’s Trust was an easy decision for us in 2921. Their #ChangeAGirlsLife campaign has already improved so many girls’ lives, and aligns with our Values at LYMA. And we are delighted to run the campaign again this year.

From the 8th to the 12th of March, we will be donating £25 of every Starter Kit purchased through our website to the campaign to enable vulnerable young women to access free courses to boost their confidence, kick-start their careers and turn their lives around.

The Prince’s Trust will use our donation to provide vital help and support to girls in the UK, assigning each girl a mentor and giving them the gift of a fresh start and an opportunity to rebuild lost confidence and move forward into employment, further education or to become self-employed. The mission behind #ChangeAGirlsLife is to give disadvantaged girls the chance to flourish and to look forward to a brighter future. Because everybody deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential.
