The wellness trends that are growing rapidly.
The wellness industry is currently worth $4.2 trillion, and this is largely down to constant innovation in the sector. It seems that there’s always something new on the wellness block and it can be hard to keep up. At LYMA, we know that pharmaco-nutrition evolves rapidly, meaning LYMA is in a constant development phase. We always have our eye on innovation and are continually adapting and enhancing our formula to ensure we remain the best and most effective on the market.
So what are the biggest health and wellbeing trends that continue to endure, no matter the leaps and bounds? Healthy food and nutrition trends, vitamin trends, supplement trends and fitness trends. They come and go. But some are here for the long-run and, in our opinion, are only set to get bigger as time goes on.
So which health and wellbeing trends do you really need to know about? And which healthy living trends are only set to grow exponentially? We took a deep-dive into what’s been going on in the industry and have come up with our top three trends that are set to dominate the wellness space for the foreseeable future. Read on to find out what they are, and how LYMA can help to keep you up to speed.
1. Sleep hygiene and circadian health.
Insomnia and difficulty sleeping have been something humans have faced since time immemorial. While it is often recommended that we sleep for between seven and nine hours a night, even this advice has been called into question recently. Turns out that we all have individual sleep needs and that - surprise, surprise, one size doesn’t fit all after all.
Sleep - how much we’re getting, where we’re getting it, when we’re getting it - has become an integral part of wellness culture. Gwyneth Paltrow has been clean sleeping since 2016 and now, it seems, the rest of us are trying to follow suit.
We’ve been trying everything we can think of to achieve a better night’s sleep. We’ve bought weighted blankets and splurged on CBD (to be replaced by Levagen+ soon); we’ve dabbled in yoga nidra and paid through the nose for sophrology; we’ve gorged ourselves silly on ‘sleep ice-cream’; we’ve even visited far-flung ‘sleep retreats’ in the hunt for a peaceful night’s slumber.
Our collective poor sleep habits are causing a pandemic of inflammation, weight-gain, lowered immunity and premature ageing. So what can we do to get a better night’s sleep?
Ashwagandha is a member of the species somnifera which, in Latin, means ‘sleep-inducing’, and it is somewhat of a holy grail when it comes to improving sleep. Studies have shown that supplementing with ashwagandha can result in improved sleep onset latency and better quality zzz. The adaptogen also has the added bonus of helping to relieve stress and - when taken consistently - can help you to mitigate anxiety and feel more balanced as you go about your daily life. These are just some of the reasons that we include Sensoril Ashwagandha in our formula.
2. Self-care for a stronger immune system.
Mahatma Gandhi famously said: “Be the change you wish to see in the world.” This has never been more pertinent or relevant than it is today. In an increasingly globalised world where we all have a responsibility to one another and to the future health of our planet, it is more important than ever that we take care of ourselves so that we have the capacity - both mentally and physically - to look out for one another and for the world at large. We’re more acutely aware than ever that if you don’t have your health, there’s no way you can be able to help and support others with theirs.
At the moment, the focus is of course on boosting our immunity ahead of a possible second wave. In addition, there is also a focus on mental wellbeing; the lack of IRL connection in recent months has been taking its toll.
First to immunity: you simply cannot afford to leave your immunity to chance in the current climate. In the case of a new virus, such as COVID-19, our bodies haven’t had a chance to develop immunity yet because we haven’t previously encountered it. This leaves us more susceptible. Scientists around the world are working on developing vaccines and drugs that can lower the effects of the virus, but we still need to focus on supplementing smartly and looking after ourselves.
How can LYMA support your immunity? LYMA’s formula contains our Wellmune® Blend, a highly specialized 1,3 1,6 beta-glucan that has been clinically proven to boost the innate, rapid-fire immune system. This Wellmune® Blend is clinically backed by over a dozen published, peer-reviewed studies. Research suggests that this Wellmune® Blend has the ability to boost immune health in people of all ages.
When it comes to developing mental resilience in the face of challenging circumstances, LYMA is primed to support you. Curcumin, for example, has been shown to increase resilience to chronic stress. The most bioavailable and effective form of curcumin is HydroCurc™, which is formulated at a daily dose of 250mg in the LYMA formula.
Sensoril Ashwagandha is a highly effective and extensively studied adaptogenic herb and is formulated in LYMA.
Sensorlil Ashwagandha is the best documented, and the only full spectrum root extracted, ashwagandha on the market. Several randomized studies have been conducted that show full spectrum root extract Sensoril to be the most effective form of ashwagandha for human consumption.
HydroCurc™ has been scientifically shown to support basic neurochemical function and keep your brain immune to inflammations, whilst Sensoril® Ashwagandha has been shown to improve stress and anxiety resistance and to promote relaxation. Both HydroCurc™ and Sensoril®Ashwagandha are fully patented and backed by peer-reviewed evidence.
3. Smart ageing and longevity.
Nobody looks forward to ageing but it is one of the inevitable facts of life and, actually, if we are blessed with moving forward into older age, we should probably be grateful. The industry knows, though, that the modern day consumer won’t settle for looking or feeling less than their best. Smart ageing is big business, it is now called longevity medicine.
You don’t, however, need to resort to drastic measures. Whether you want to keep your body fit and your joints healthy, keep your hair feeling long and strong, ensure your mind remains sharp, or reduce wrinkles and achieve younger looking skin, there is an ingredient in LYMA for you.
Cognizin® as formulated at 250mg in LYMA can help when it comes to supporting brain health as you age and is the world’s leading nootropic. Cognizin® has been extensively clinically tested for efficacy with robust peer-reviewed data and the results of these studies suggest that supplementing with Cognizin® could improve both memory and mood in older people, and that it could help to slow cognitive impairment. As if that weren’t enough, supplementing with Cognizin® may prevent the onset of neurodegenerative diseases such as dementia, Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s.
Cynatine® HNS is a really exciting ingredient for those who want to protect, repair and increase the health of their skin, hair and nails - even as they age. LYMA uses the latest patented technology to deliver Cynatine® HNS, a stable and clinically proven form of natural keratin peptides, directly to the relevant cells.
LYMA offers a second anti-ageing beauty solution in the form of Lycored Lycopene™. Oxidation plays a central role in the emergence of fine lines and wrinkles and the presence of free radicals is responsible for the break-down of cells as you age, causing skin to lose its plumpness and elasticity. Supplementing with Lycopene, a powerful antioxidant, can therefore help to fight fine lines and wrinkles. Lycopene also stops collagenases - the enzymatic breakdown of the skin’s natural collagen - meaning that your skin stays plump, and helps the skin to retain elasticity and moisture.
You might have heard of NAD, or nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide as being a viable anti-ageing solution. NAD has gotten a lot of airtime lately and has become very trendy. It is basically a molecule that has been said to improve human cell metabolism by switching off genes connected with inflammaging and accelerated ageing.
NAD supplements may have benefits, but as yet studies on humans have proved inconclusive. Time will tell, but until we know for sure, and until we have the scientific evidence to back it up, we will not be including NAD in the LYMA formula. For now, NAD supplements remain shrouded in myth and suspicion.
At LYMA, our goal has always been to offer our customers the gold standard of health and we continue to be dedicated to helping you to become your extraordinary self. This is why we never, ever compromise. All of LYMA’s ingredients are clinically-backed and fully patented. We don’t believe in trends: we believe in science.
When it comes to your health, your wellbeing and your future, you can rely on LYMA to stay ahead of the zeitgeist and to deliver the goods.
Always consult your medical professional if you have a medical condition, or existing health protocol, before beginning any new supplementation regime.
