Why the ultra-rich are switching out hedge funds for ‘give me the edge’ funds.
When UBS surveyed its multi-millionaire investors, they found that more than half of them expected to reach 100 years old, with a landslide 90% agreeing that “health is more important than wealth.” Their top-tier clients would even compromise half of their fortunes to guarantee an extra decade of good health. Health, as it turns out, is wealth — billions in fact.
Any UHNW worth their colored diamonds just wants to enjoy life, and for that life to last longer. But living to 100 isn’t really the goal here. Longevity isn’t about immortality — it’s about how long we live well. After all, what use is that superyacht if you’re not limber enough to jump aboard it?
The notion of an aspirational life is shifting. It is no longer about amassing possessions but about collecting experiences — ones only possible with a strong body and healthy mind. A clean bill of health has become the ultimate status symbol. The ultra-wealthy were already booking longevity clinics at $50,000 per week. Now, the 0.001% club is moving onto curated genetics.
The Science of Epigenetics and Longevity
The future of longevity is epigenetics: the artful manipulation of gene expression to unlock genetic potential. “The genome is the genetic hand of cards you are dealt at conception and the one you remain with, but epigenetics is the science of how the activity of your genes fluctuates in accordance with your environment and exposures. Research shows you can change how they function, and this can considerably modify the aging process,” explains Professor Paul Clayton, world-leading expert in preventative aging and LYMA Director of Science.
Epigenetics is relatively new. The term was coined in 1942 by Professor Conrad Waddington, who founded the world’s first university research department of epigenetics at Edinburgh. Clayton’s own mother worked as principal scientist for Waddington — who became Clayton’s godfather — meaning he’s been immersed in epigenetics since birth.
As one of the world’s leading clinical pharmacologists and pharmaco-nutritionists, Clayton emphasizes that epigenetics in food and supplements favorably modifies the epigenome and aids DNA methylation.
“From eating an epigenetic diet, evidence indicates your risk of degenerative disease would be reduced by 80–90%. This means a diet rich in nutrients like isothiocyanates (cruciferous vegetables), isoflavones (soy), stilbenes (red grapes), curcuminoids (turmeric, ginger) and prebiotic fibers,” says Clayton. He also stresses that evidence-based, patented nutraceuticals are the only health supplements worth taking.
“Never before has so much validated science and patented technology been combined into one formula — in a combination that no diet or multi-vitamin could ever deliver.”
Ultra-processed foods, inflammation, prolonged stress and a sedentary lifestyle can accelerate biological aging. But the flip side is that positive epigenetic actions can extend healthspan. Take sirtuin genes, for example — enzymes that repair DNA and optimize function. These “longevity genes” combat inflammation, boost metabolism and slow aging. Lifestyle practices like time-restricted fasting, ice baths and HIIT all activate sirtuins and trigger epigenetic shifts that revive biological youth.
The Future of Aging: Resetting the Epigenetic Clock with Innovative Tech
Where is epigenetics heading next? Professor Clayton believes the next frontier is the convergence of curated genetics with innovative technology — a vision that led him to become LYMA’s Director of Science.
He has been instrumental in developing the LYMA Laser, the world’s first FDA-cleared, clinic-grade cosmetic laser for home use. This was followed by the launch of LYMA’s advanced epigenetic skincare, designed to treat the root causes of aging.
“LYMA is resetting the epigenetic clock and the results are ground-breaking. We are rewriting the textbooks, redrafting the rules and reversing aging in the most fundamental way.”
— Professor Paul Clayton, LYMA Director of Science
Aging may appear chaotic, but many of its drivers are hackable. Epigenetics provides the dials on your body’s motherboard — and when tuned correctly, they can future-proof both body and mind. By leveraging science, we can prolong healthspan and rewind the biological clock. Because billionaire or not, the best long-term investment you can make is becoming your optimal self — for as long as possible.
Always consult your medical professional if you have a medical condition or existing health protocol before beginning any new supplementation regime.
