The Ultimate Five Minute Routine This Beauty Boss Swears By

How one of the world's leading facialists unwinds and boosts her beauty at the end of a busy day.

Many of us are working from home (or living at work, you might say), self-isolating, home-schooling children, cooking for our families, and juggling household tasks. It's never been more important to prioritise self-care.

Taking just five minutes at the end of your day to sit quietly, breathe, relax, and do some facial massage can help release emotional stress and physical tension. Try setting aside time each evening, after your regular skincare routine - cleansing, toning, eye cream and serum - and before using your LYMA Laser. Find a quiet space, light a candle, play meditative music, and settle comfortably with a facial massage balm or oil.

Let's start with some breath work

Take slow, deep breaths in through your nose, exhaling gently through your mouth. Focus on your heart space and filling your lungs, chest, and ribs with oxygen. As you exhale, release tension from your body. Pay attention to areas like the shoulders, neck, and jawline. Soften these muscles as you breathe out, letting go of stress and worry.

Tapping

If you’re experiencing anxiety, depression, or fear, gentle tapping can help release these emotions. Use your fingertips to lightly tap your upper chest, shoulders, and neck. Work upwards to the jawline, cheeks, and forehead, then over the head and down the back of the neck to the shoulders. Repeat as needed, keeping your breathing steady and calm.

Facial massage

Take your chosen facial oil or balm, warm it in your hands, and follow these four movements:

Movement one – The Prayer: Place your hands in prayer position at the center of your face. Glide outward to the hairline three times. This creates a soothing, secure effect.

Movement two – Forehead sweep: Starting at the center of your forehead, sweep outward with alternating hands three times each. This calms and balances.

Movement three – Jawline release: Place your index finger under the jaw and middle finger above it. Sweep outward from chin to ear six times on each side. This relieves muscle tension.

Movement four – Neck circles: Using your palm, sweep from the center of your neck to the ear, around to the back of the neck, then down to the shoulder. Repeat six times per side. This improves circulation and eases tension.

Finish with both hands on your chest, inhale deeply, and thank your body. Exhale slowly, releasing the day with self-compassion.

Follow this ritual with 15 minutes of one of the LYMA Lasers to enhance elasticity, reduce wrinkles, even skin tone, and restore glow.

This calming practice can be done alone or with family. Children also enjoy it and find it helps them relax and sleep.
