For decades, laser skin rejuvenation technologies have been far from inclusive. If you have darker skin you will be all too familiar with the historic failure of the laser and skin renewal industries in addressing your skin concerns. Traditional laser technologies have been somewhat inaccurate at detecting the precise treatment area on darker skin. Moreover, the acute thermal damage these technologies impact on skin makes the risks of scarring and inflammatory hyperpigmentation in dark skin, of significant concern.

The LYMA Laser changes everything: finally, a laser device that has the ability to transform wrinkles, acne scars, keloids, pigmentation and hyperpigmentation, superficial veins and bruising in people of all skin tones and ethnicities.

LYMA worked with a team of over 20 independent medical scientists to create the LYMA Laser System, the first truly inclusive and most powerful cosmetic skin renewal system ever to be made available for at-home use. LYMA always strives to achieve the perfect balance of science, nature and technology to enable you to look and feel your absolute best.

The LYMA Laser technology has been extensively trialled for all manner of skin renewal, from anti-ageing and blemishes to bruising and sagging, in hundreds of medical trials. This is the first time a laser of this transformational power can be safely used at home even in people with a darker skin tone who suffer from hyperpigmentation. We are proud to introduce a new dawn for inclusive skincare.

What is the LYMA Laser?

The LYMA Laser is the most significant beauty launch in a generation. It’s totally different to traditional lasers or at home LED devices in that the light causes no pain to the skin whatsoever. The LYMA Laser is completely safe to use on all skin tones, including darker and highly pigmented skin tones, there are no side effects, no chance of scarring, and no risk of skin distortion. Nothing with this level of transformative power has ever before been available on the beauty market. It’s a true game changer.

What does the LYMA Laser do?

The LYMA Laser works to improve the skin's texture and appearance, targeting conditions such as blemishes, melasma and other forms of skin pigmentation, scars (including pimple and c-section scars), lines, wrinkles and cellulite. It is suitable for use on all skin tones. After three months of daily use for just 15 minutes per day, you should see a significant improvement, and continued use could see this issue disappear completely.

A clinical study that looked at the efficacy of the LYMA System concluded that, when used at home for 15 minutes daily, the LYMA Laser was responsible for a reduction in pigmentation by 62%, skin redness by 42%, pimples by 56% and wrinkle depth by 53% in just five weeks.

What makes the LYMA Laser so unique?

The LYMA System was developed by leading scientists to empower skin to behave as if it were not ageing. For the first time, a clinic-grade near infra-red 500mW laser (100x more powerful than LED) can be used safely at home. This is made possible through the LYMA Laser's ultra-diffused lens which disperses the internal laser beam 25,000 times across the three-centimeter lens. Because the light is split so many times it makes it safe and does not damage any cell whatsoever. This ensures no damage to the skin, and makes the LYMA Laser safe completely safe to use around the eye area. This is a world first.

How does the LYMA Laser differ to IPL?

The LYMA Laser is a different technology to IPL. IPL is a pulsed light that delivers a lot of power for a fraction of a second.

IPL is intended to cause thermal damage in order to stimulate cellular regeneration. In contrast, the LYMA Laser is a 500mW laser which delivers monochromatic, coherent and continuous light over a sustained period, without causing any damage to the skin cells whatsoever. The LYMA Laser operates in the near infrared spectrum at a specific wavelength of 808nm (this is the most penetrative light frequency). The LYMA Laser also contains four antibacterial blue lights on the 470nm frequency, totalling 40mW.

How does this make it safe for darker skin tones?

Since there is no damage to the skin on any level whatsoever it’s safe for all skin tones. This is particularly important as people with darker skin tones are more susceptible to inflammatory hyperpigmentation and scarring than those with lighter skin. This is a truly revolutionary technology for people with greater amounts of pigment in their skin.

To optimise the regeneration process, you need to use the Laser alongside the LYMA Oxygen Mist and Glide to flood the skin with oxygen and immune boosting beta glucans.

What do the scientists say?

Dr. Graeme Glass PhD, leading craniofacial and plastic surgeon based between London and Qatar, offered to explain the science behind the LYMA Laser:

"The LYMA laser works on a principle called photobiomodulation; the term used to describe a cascade of events triggered by light that brings about tissue regeneration and repair. The absorption of light energy provided by the LYMA laser causes the energy producing system within every skin cell to become more efficient. This, in turn, changes the behaviour of the cells. Genes involved in tissue regeneration and repair are turned on, while genes involved in tissue ageing are turned off. With persistent use, this brings about a profound change in skin quality.

The beneficial effects of low level laser therapy on wound healing and scarring was first observed in the late 1960’s and early 1970’s but it was not until the 1980’s and 1990’s that the scientific basis for photobiomodulation was established. The big problem was that the lasers needed to induce these effects were not widely available. For this reason, researchers in the 2000’s began experimenting with the only alternative they could acquire easily and cheaply; light emitting diodes (LED). Twenty years on, the evidence for laser-based photobiomodulation remains unparalleled. For certain conditions such as dyschromias, vulgaris, wound healing and body contouring almost all of the plausible peer-reviewed evidence uses laser light as the light source. The problem is that laser light has not been readily accessible. Until now."

The bottom line.

The LYMA Laser forms part of the three-part LYMA System; a simple daily protocol that hails a new dawn for inclusive skincare. The LYMA System powerfully regenerates skin and heals wrinkles, blemishes, skin redness, scarring, pigmentation, bruising and sagging.

No matter your skin tone, used for just 15 minutes daily, the LYMA Laser promises clinic-grade results from the comfort of your own home.

The LYMA Laser won’t just improve your skin, it will transform it.
