Under the Skin with Russell Brand is a podcast hosted by comedian, actor, radio host, author, and activist Russell Brand.
Brand describes Under The Skin as a podcast that digs deep to discover “what’s beneath the surface”. His mission with the podcast is to discover the hidden depths of the people we admire, of the ideas that define our time, and of the stories we are told.
Covering big ideas from politics, human rights and mental health, to artificial intelligence, social activism, popular culture and the arts, Brand brings his own unique, ahem, brand of insight and humour to the wellbeing podcast scene.
Each episode is set around a free-flowing and usually comic conversation between Brand and some of the biggest names in academia, popular culture and the arts. Together, they aim to uncover ulterior motives and the truth behind, what Brand terms, “our constructed reality”.
Previous guests on the show have included author, social activist, and filmmaker Naomi Klein, physicist Brian Cox, professor, lecturer, author, and podcast host Brené Brown, and former US Vice-President Al Gore.
How To Listen:
The podcast is available via Luminary - a subscription service that promises unparalleled quality and diversity of podcasts. A subscription to Luminary costs £2.49 per month and all 145 Episodes of Under The Skin With Russell Brand are then free to access.
Covering ground from Silicon Valley to the Andes, there is nothing high-tech entrepreneur Dave Asprey hasn’t tried in the way of biohacking. Asprey has long been obsessively focused on discovering for himself just how to optimise one’s biology and do everything better. And Bulletproof Radio, finally, allows us to have a window on his discoveries.
Bulletproof Radio was born out of a 20-year single-minded crusade by Asprey to upgrade himself as a human being by exploiting every cutting-edge technology available to him. The podcast aims to unveil the truth behind these technologies and to distill, and make digestible, the knowledge, insight and expertise of the world’s best doctors, biochemists, scientists, Olympic nutritionists, meditation experts, and mavericks.
Asprey has himself spent in excess of $1M on personal health experiments ranging from undergoing scans at private brain EEG facilities hidden in a Canadian forest to embarking on silent retreats in the far-flung and remote monasteries of Tibet.
Asprey argues that it used to take a lifetime to radically rewire the human body and mind, but that technology has significantly changed the rules. With Bulletproof Radio, Asprey aims to provide his listeners with everything they need to upgrade their mind and body, to take control of their wellbeing, improve their biochemistry, to boost their productivity, and to live life to its fullest.
How To Listen:
Bulletproof Radio is free to listen to via Apple Podcasts or Asprey’s own website.
