The 2024 Met Gala theme might just have been the best yet. “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion” was centered around 50 historical fashion masterpieces too fragile to ever be worn again. And the Met Gala red carpet attendees on the steps of The Metropolitan Museum of Art didn’t disappoint.
When it comes to the best Met Gala fashion looks, the bolder the sartorial statement, the better. But no amount of avant garde or exquisite needlework can shine if your skin has more issues than Vogue. Every A-lister knows that Met Gala red carpet beauty starts with seamless skin.
Forget Rhianna and ASAP Rocky, this year’s Met Gala red carpet power couple were Joanna Czech and the LYMA Laser. In the days leading up to the iconic event, the world’s top facialist was lighting up the fashion set’s skin from her blissful SoHo studio. Joanna created snatched, sculpted, luminous red carpet ready skin with her custom LYMA X Joanna Czech facial which incorporates Joanna’s renowned massage techniques with LYMA's world-first laser technology.
The treatment begins with a sculpting and lifting manual massage, followed by exfoliation and a combination of targeted serums tailored to her client’s skin's needs on that day. This is followed with the LYMA Laser to improve skin elasticity, reduce pigmentation, brighten and push skincare products deeper into the skin. Each facial then offers additional skin care therapies including ultrasound, oxygen infusion and intensive face masks before finishing with a powerful blast of rejuvenating LED therapy with negative ions.
What can we all do to make the theme for this year’s Met Gala our own reality? The night before any red carpet event, Czech demands that all her A-list clients, “Avoid salty food, stay hydrated, sleep well and of course, use the LYMA Laser.”
Sleep is a superpower and the regeneration, repair and detoxification of every cell throughout our bodies, happens at night. Damage accumulated inside cells is cleared away during sleep and this complex repair process is fundamental to reversing the visible signs of undersleeping, such as wrinkles, lines and dull looking skin.
explains Joanna Czech who advises all her A list clients on good night time routines.
“The flipside is that lack of sleep affects the skin’s pH levels and lowers the moisture level, causing imbalanced, dehydrated skin which is indicated by acne, redness, and a sallow complexion. Because your body is not getting enough time to regenerate damaged cells, imperfections can be more noticeable.”
The LYMA Laser can undo a lot of the damage that sleep deprivation can have on skin’s aging. The near-infrared 500mW low-level laser therapy beam travels through all layers of skin without losing any power, unlocking the mitochondria that provide cellular energy, restoring their ability to produce collagen and elastin. Recharged skin cells behave as young again and the result is smooth, lifted skin that glows from the inside out.
“The LYMA Laser stands apart in its class with the ability to give an instant radiance to the skin while simultaneously elevating cellular energy levels, increasing collagen production for a more rejuvenated and revitalized complexion,” lauds Joanna Czech.
Bringing the clinic into your hands; the LYMA Laser is the world’s most powerful at-home beauty device, 100x more powerful than LED and suitable for all skin types and tones. And yet, unlike all other clinic grade lasers, the Laser doesn’t harm or disrupt skin in any way. It can be used the same day of an event to sculpt, brighten, plump and even prep the skin and create an immaculate canvas before applying make-up.
Always start with the LYMA Oxygen Mist. I use about six sprays.
Follow this with two pumps of LYMA Oxygen Glide. Apply with a nice press and release motion.
Then I apply either a balm or some oil for an easier glide.
Then turn the laser on. I use very slow movements for about 10 minutes on one side of my face. 10 minutes on the other, and another 10 minutes on my neck.
If I treat a particular area - for instance my crow's feet - make sure you are holding it directly at the area that you are addressing. I'd hold it for about five minutes.
You need to do it every single day for about three months. This we call the cumulative results of a treatment.
